Alpine SWR-1221D Subwoofers

Alpine SWR-1221D Subwoofers

DESCRIPTION

You want to feel your bass, but you want to hear it, too — and that's what Alpine's top-of-the-line 12" subwoofer is all about. The SWR-1221D 12" dual 2-ohm Type-R sub is designed to handle high power levels and provide the remarkable accuracy and crystal-clear sound that brings music to life. The motor structure and double-stacked magnets focus magnetic energy within the vented pole piece for up to 1,000 watts of mind-blowing peak output. The pulp cone has been reinforced with Kevlar® (the material used in bulletproof vests) for extra rigidity, so it can withstand that kind of hard play. For deep bass, a 1" Santoprene rubber surround aids in cone travel while guarding against decay that can mar speaker output. An extended spider landing area provides extra excursion for fuller sound. The dual 2-ohm, 2" voice coils are big enough to handle lots of power while offering system wiring flexibility. The tinsel leads are woven into the dual progressive Nomex spiders, so you don't have to worry about breakage that can devastate your sound. This design also helps you get nearly 3" of cone excursion for maximum output. An aluminum diecast frame provides a secure, non-resonant housing. The SWR-1221D is designed for use in sealed or ported enclosures.

Strength:

tight clean responsive bass BIG BANG

Weakness:

none

Just purchased this subwoofer and its fantastic. running it with a philips dap 6020 amplifier with 100-150watts rms in bridged mode. Even though my amp is under powered this sub still shakes my car.Strong tight big bass from this 12 inch sub cannot fault it at all. Iam using it in 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure which i think is just the right size Very pleased with this sub big bang or the buck with no boominess.
